Oputa shared and wrote the photos;
While I was having the usual morning round table discussion with my family members today, my dad remembered the story of a lady who sold Akara while they were very young. He said the woman would always give Akara every day when they go to school.
My father’s brothers also said the same thing. They said that it had come to a point that the lady would deliberately set aside a portion of Akara to give to them whenever it was there. That was more than 3-4 decades ago, and the lady would now have to be over 100 years old.
My father said that thoughts of the lady always came to him and was of the opinion that he had an obligation to see her, at least while she was still alive.
In a heartwarming moment, brothers pay a surprise visit to Akara vendors who were on their way to school for free 40 years ago
My dad’s brothers bought the idea and within minutes we decided to drive and track down ‘Daada’.
When we arrived at her place, it was amazing to see how agile she looked after living more than a century.
Immediately when we reached out to her, she embraced each of us with excitement and rubbed over our foreheads with the charcoal on her fingers while we rained blessings. Surprisingly, Daada was able to recognize the ‘Children’.
They told their experiences with her, mehn, you have to see her excitement. The thing is, she never had a child of her own, but her kindness to these children was phenomenal, and for these ‘children’ to visit her unexpectedly after many years, in remembrance of her act of kindness, it was much around her. She entertained us with peanuts.
When we were about to leave, everyone raised funds and gave Daada for Christmas, and Daada told us to get together, fetch her Bible, and start praying for everyone. shows individually in her Bible. It was a wonderful experience for me because I went there and felt so blessed.

She prayed for us from her heart. In her words when translated,
‘I’m not leaving yet, but you will all live longer than I do. While you are gathering today, when I finally leave this world, I must all come when I am laid to rest. ”
May our good deeds always be remembered.
