The founder and leader of the United Front Party (UFP), dr. Nana Agyenim Boateng, believes that it is time for people from the Ashanti region to pay their taxes to the king of the kingdom of Asante, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II instead of the government of Ghana.

According to Mr Boateng, the development in the Ashanti region is lacking and if such taxes were paid to the king, the area would make better use and develop their taxes.

‘If we want development in the region, we have to pay royalties for our mineral resources and taxes to Otumfuo. Our traditional rulers are more reliable than the government “, he said on Akoma FM.

It is added that “No king or chief is directly responsible for repairing roads or doing any development, and if we want development out of it, taxes must be paid to them”.
