Having a child now will delay me reaching my goals – Chinko Ekun

Nigerian rapper Chinko Ekun, born Oladipo Emmanuel, has revealed that he has no plans to have a child at the moment so that he can reach his goals on time.

Chinko Ekun in an interview with The punch also spoke about his direct experience with police brutality, where he alleged he was mercilessly beaten by the officers who arrested him.

“I was once the victim of police brutality. They beat me mercilessly. The experience affected me both physically and psychologically. I almost went crazy because it was three days before my show in Ife, Osun State. he said

He also explained why he had not yet had a child, saying that:

“One of the reasons I haven’t been a Baby Dad yet is that I have a lot of goals that I haven’t yet achieved. Although I am comfortable, there is a standard of living that I want for my children. I want to send my children to the best schools and have a good life. Growing up, I didn’t suffer because my father took good care of us. He gave us a standard, but I have to raise that standard. Once I started having children my goal would change, so psychologically I am not ready. Anytime my wife gets pregnant, I wouldn’t want her to be stressed out at all. I should be there for her and I don’t have that time now because of my “pushing”. “
