‘My wife starved me, bathed me in gutter water’ – 12-year-old girl bought for N15,000

Residents of Williams Estate, Akowonjo, Egbeda, have called on the president of the Human Initiative for the Downtrodden, Kenpeacemaker Onoja, to help save a girl.

According to the resident, a girl identified as Esther was abused by her guardians.

Esther was taken from her guardian and was immediately admitted to the hospital.

Esther tells her story

Mom hits me with a cane and anything else she sees. She sometimes gives me food and I sometimes pick food out of the trash. She hits me most times when she complains about how I sweep the floor. She tells me I do not sweep well.

According to a statement from Sahara, police have arrested the traffickers who sold the child to the woman.
