The Nigerian film industry has lost another veteran Yoruba actor, Folake Aremu, popularly known as Orisabunmi.
President of the Theater Arts and Film Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) Bolaji Amusan, or Mr. Latin, confirmed her death Wednesday morning.
Mr. Latin revealed that Folake Aremu gave her last breath on Tuesday night.
Another senior TAMPAN member, Tunde Ola-Yusuff, also said that ‘she left without saying goodbye. ‘
Orisabunmi died at the age of 60, four months after ex-husband Jimoh Aliu, better known as Aworo.
Orisabunmi has been known since the 80s for her roles as a priestess in movies.
Meanwhile, the president of the Association of Theater Arts and Film Producers of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Bolaji Amusan ‘Mr. Latin ‘said that the funeral rule for Mrs. Folakemi Aremu AKA Orisabunmi will be announced soon.
