“We were born here, we die here”

A Nigerian doctor, simply identified as Fatima, has revealed that she has turned down a chance to move to Canada because she wants to contribute her quota to the development of the country.

Given the lucrative nature of the medical profession in Canada, it is a logical decision to relocate to the country. However, Fatima turned down the offer due to her sense of responsibility for Nigeria.

According to her, a large number of her colleagues have left Nigeria for different countries around the world in search of greener pastures, but she and the remaining few will stay back to make Nigeria work.

‘About a month ago I had the opportunity to move to Canada. But leaving this country honestly is not an option for me. Many of my colleagues are gone there, but the rest of us will stay back. We will make our country work. We were born here, we will live here, we will die here. ” she tweeted.

‘I want to stay back because I believe we will be bigger here. It’s just a matter of time. ” she added.

Many Nigerians have praised Fatima for her patriotism, while others have argued that she can afford to make such a decision because she is a wealthy home.
