Legendary French fashion designer Pierre Cardin has died at the age of 98.
According to a statement by his family members, Mr. Cardin died at a hospital in Neuilly, just west of Paris.
“It’s a day of sadness for our whole family. “Pierre Cardin is no more,” they said in a statement.
“We are all proud of his stubborn ambition and the courage he has shown throughout his life.”
However, the cause of his death has yet to be revealed.
Before his death, Cardin helped make a revolution in fashion with his futuristic designs in the 1960s and 70s.
He was also a pioneer in the fashion industry and licensed his name to be used on a range of products such as sunglasses.
He also received credits for the promotion of turtleneck wool for men and bodywear for women.
Cardin admitted that in the fifties and sixties he helped in the revolution of fashion with his futuristic and stylish design.
