A 36-year-old Nigerian woman is charged with the murder of her four-year-old son in the UK.
Oluwakemi Badare, is accused of killing Kingswealth Bayode in her home in Plumstead, south-east London, by allegedly drowning him in a bath. The child was reportedly discovered ‘lifeless’ on Sunday 27 December.
Badare, who is being held at Bronzefield Jail, was represented in the Old Bailey by a lawyer last week for the ten-minute administrative hearing.
The court said emergency services were called shortly before 8 a.m. Sunday to the address in Invermore Place, where the boy was found dead.
Badare was arrested at the scene and arrested before being charged. She then appeared in Bromley Magistrate’s Court on Monday and was detained.
Later, a post-mortem was performed on the body of the boy a few days ago.
Judge Anthony Leonard QC listed the case on March 17 for a plea hearing.
