“The first person to stay out of your marriage is your mother.”

Nigerian rights activist, Aisha Yesufu has advised married couples to keep their mothers out of their marriage if they want it to work.

According to campaign co-host #BringBackOurGirls, once you start telling your mom what’s going on in your marriage, she’ll get involved, and that’s the end.

She wrote on her Twitter thread: “When you get married, YOUR MOTHER is the first person you have to keep out of your marriage! That love and worry and the desire to find everything is okay under the guise of love? It is not healthy! You start to share what you are done for! You are starting to interfere!

As a new couple, learn what works for you. It’s unique. Develop it yourself the way you want. Keep everyone away from it! Do your thing and it is never easy to get married for two different lives together. So take your time
