Oge Obi, the undercover reporter on the BBC Sex for Grade project and “the brain” behind the documentary, has released a disturbing video in which she repeatedly “apologizes for what I’m going to do”.
She said in the caption for the video that she just wanted to be the next Christiane Amanpour, the popular international CNN presenter.
“I started reading newspapers as a pretend news anchor when I was a little girl. All I wanted to do with my life was to be the next Christiane Amanpour or Anas Aremeyaw.
Forgive me some day, but it’s better that way, ”wrote Obi.
Seen in the video posted on Twitter on Sunday, Obi cries as she says:
“I just want to say I’m sorry for what I’m going to do. I’m just tired.”

Her latest video follows her longstanding battle with Kiki Mordi, another journalist who was the face of the documentary that exposed sexual harassment in Nigerian and Ghanaian universities.
Obi accuses Mordi of taking all of the credits for the work.
The problem with women escalated after Mordi’s recent recognition as the 2020 Michael Elliott Prize winner for African storytelling on the documentary.
Last week, another journalist, Ruona Meyer, called Mordi on Twitter and asked her to share the prize money with Obi, who she referred to as OO at the time.
On Friday, Obi tweeted:
“Make your own. To confirm. Apologize (even if it’s wrong, I’ll take it) and stop igniting the injustice I went through.
Everything is not about money, it really is not about too much. I hate this mess. “
