Widow, Mfantseman elected MP is appointed to parliament

The ruling New Patriotic Party has changed its leadership after swearing in its eighth MPs soon.

The wife of the late Mfantseman MP Ekow Quansah Hayford has apparently been given a position in the majority leadership in parliament.

The widow, Mrs. Ophelia Mensah Hayford, who is now the MP for Mfansteman and Habib Iddrisu, the MP for Tolon, are now deputy chief whips.

It is said that the two chief whips take over from Matthew Nyindom and Moses Anim.

Suame MP Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu is being hinted at to stay in his position as majority leader.

After the just-concluded election, the current parliament will be dissolved at midnight on January 6 for the new one to swear in.
